Tour Plan

Day 01 Negombo

Negombo is your first stop during the tour. Take a tour of Negombo and learn about its history. The coastal town is within easy reach of the airport, and a city tour will help you shake off any weariness after your international flight to the island.

Day 02 Dambulla, Sigiriya and Minneriya

The first destination for today is the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can see herds of elephants up close. Then, head to Dambulla, to visit the famous Dambulla Cave Temple. Afterwards, you can climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

In the evening, you will proceed to have a safari at the Minneriya National Park. The park encompasses the beautiful Minneriya tank, built by King Mahasena, an incredible place to observe the elephants that come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds (cormorants, painted storks, open-bills, Pelicans and many other species of waders) that come to fish in the shallow waters.

Day 03 Polonnaruwa and Kandy

Sri Lanka's second capital (11th - 12th Century AD), Polonnaruwa is a well-preserved city of ancient dagobas, moonstones, beautiful parks, massive buildings and stunning statues. The majestic King's Council Chamber, the Lotus Bath, the Lanka Thilaka Viharaya, the Gal Viharaya (rock temple) and the statue of one of Polonnaruwa’s, great kings, Parakramabahu, are a few of this capital's memorable sights.

Afterwards, you proceed to Kandy. You can stop at a wood carving factory, where you can watch skilled artisans create masterpieces from seemingly unimpressive chunks of wood. On your way, you will visit the Spice Garden. During a tour of the garden, you will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. A processing and training unit has been set up in the area and farmers are grouped in a cooperative to ensure fair prices and you will also be able to purchase spices.

Day 04 Kandy

Kandy is a city that lies amidst the hills. The city was the last capital of Sri Lanka. Since it lies on the Kandy plateau, the area is home to tropical plantations, mainly tea. Relax at the hotel for a few hours, before visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic. You can then enjoy a cultural performance before taking a stroll in the Peradeniya Botanical Garden.

Afterwards, unwind in the hotel.

Day 05 Ramboda and Colombo

Stop at a Tea Factory and a Plantation to witness the manufacturing process of world-famous Ceylon Tea. Enjoy the taste of a pure un-blended cup of factory fresh tea. On the way back, you will pass the eye-catching views of waterfalls including Ramboda Waterfall.

In the evening, you will arrive in Colombo, where you can enjoy a city tour and shopping before leaving for the airport.
