Tour Plan

Day 01 Negombo

Head to the hotel and refresh yourself. The rest of this is free so that you can get used to the tropical weather and rejuvenate after your travels.

Day 02 Negombo

Explore the charming coastal town of Negombo, and discover its best-kept secrets! Take a boat ride through the Hamilton Canal. Once, people transported goods to Colombo using this canal. Today, it is a tourist site and a fantastic way to explore the area. The wide Negombo Lagoon is a favourite place to engage in water sports, so if you are a fan, head over to have some fun.

Negombo is home to a lot of fishermen. The fish caught off the waters in Negombo are distributed all over the island. As a result, Negombo has a pretty large fish market.

Day 03 Dambulla and Sigiriya

Visit the beautiful collection of Buddhist sculptures and cave paintings protected by the Rangiri-Dambulla Temple. The famous cave temple has a history that dates back to the third and second century BC and is still regarded as one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka.

Afterwards, climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. On your way to the summit, you will pass several attractions, beginning from the well-planned gardens that surround the fortress to the Lion’s Paw that marks the beginning of the climb to the beautiful frescoes and Mirror Wall.

Day 04 Minneriya

Visit Minneriya, one of the best places to go on a safari. The Minneriya National Park is famous for its annual elephant migration. While this is a seasonal phenomenon, the park still attracts a large number of visitors throughout the rest of the year as well, thanks to its stunning biodiversity.

Day 05 Habarana

Habarana is a rural area of the island. Once you reach Habarana, you can take a village tour. Discover the warmth of rural hospitality and the daily lifestyle of an agricultural community.

The village itself is closer to nature than major cities and towns, and you can immerse in the peaceful quietness of the neighbourhood and get to know the villagers better.

Day 06 Kandy

Visit the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya before taking a Kandy city tour. The garden was once the leisure garden of Sri Lankan kings, before turning into a botanical garden. As such this wide, sprawling area of Kandy is one of the most green spaces in the neighbourhood.

In contrast, the city itself is a bustling monument to the chaos of everyday life. A city tour allows you to witness Kandy as a living city, rather than the location where several historically, religiously and politically significant events took place.

Day 07 Kandy

Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. This iconic temple is one of the most popular destinations in the city. It also offers a variety of experiences. You can spend time indulging and experiencing everything from the sheer spirituality of the temple to the delightful interior decorations and the intricacy of its architecture to the educational opportunities it presents.

Afterwards, you can attend a cultural performance, where you can witness dancing and musical traditions that have passed down for centuries.

Day 08 Ella

Get on board the train departing for Ella. This is one of the most gorgeous train rides in Sri Lanka and offers unmatched sceneries. The train takes you through tunnels, steep mountainsides, gorges and viaducts. When you get to Ella, you can spend the remainder of the day relaxing at the hotel.

Day 09 Ella

Ella is a small village in the central highlands. It offers amazing trails that lead you to stunning viewpoints. For instance, you can hike the short distance to reach the Nine Arches Bridge and wait for a train to emerge from the tunnel and make the crossing over the Demodara Gorge.

Day 10 Yala

Yala is one of the best national parks in Sri Lanka to visit. You get the chance to see a variety of animal species here. Thanks to it large population of Sri Lankan leopards, your chances at spotting one of these elusive creatures is also higher than at any other park.

Day 11 Unawatuna

Unawatuna is one of the most popular beach resort towns on the southern coast. The wide bay is always active with both local and international visitors. Take the day to unwind at the beautiful golden Unawatuna beach.

Day 12 Galle

Galle is mostly known for its UNESCO World Heritage Site, Galle Fort. This is one of the best-preserved fortifications from the colonial era. Originally constructed by the Portuguese, both the Dutch and the British later expanded it. The influence of European architecture is still evident throughout the fort. Now a cheerful commercial and residential area, the Galle Fort has several chic boutique hotels, cafes, shops and restaurants.

In the evening, you can head to a nearby beach to relax and watch the stars begin to appear in the night sky.

Day 13 Galle and Colombo

Visit the Madu River and get on board a river to indulge in a river cruise. The idyllic water of the river is the perfect way to explore the serene beauty of the coastal scenery.

Afterwards, you can stop at a turtle hatchery and enjoy some time with different species of turtles. Then, head on to Colombo, where you can take a city tour and do some last-minute shopping.

Day 14 Departure

Your guide will escort you from your hotel and transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
